Chryssy Payne is a Cincinnati, Ohio based Christian hip-hop. The rapper, singer, song-writer, event host and fitness leader was born and raised in Dayton, OH. Chryssy's ultimate goal is to create a new genre of music, "FOTS" music. FOTS stands for "Fruit of the Spirit," which derives from the scripture, Galatians 5:22-23. Chryssy's foray into music began at the early age of 8, when she recorded her first song and became enamored with hearing her voice over music. As an adolescent, Chryssy found relief in writing poetry and songs as she struggled with depression, loss, and identity issues. It wasn’t until she entered undergrad at Northern Kentucky University in 2009 that she began to see her purpose and  feel God’s call to minister. After rededicating her life to Christ, it served as a catalyst to change the direction that she would take with her music. She wanted to make music to bring listeners to Jesus Christ.

 

Growing up, Chryssy was inspired by the culture and the music of 90's Hip Hop. She wanted to cultivate a sound and lyrics that would capture the positive vibes of the times, but would be spiritually and scripturally sound. With her music, she wanted listeners to hear that the Word of God can be conveyed across different genres of music including Hip Hop, Neo Soul, R n' B, Jazz, Pop and Rock.  By the end of 2014, she released three mixtapes, "Progress" (2012), "The Intro: Straight From the Heart"(2013), "Me & You Tonight" (2014), her debut EP, "Because He Said So"(2015) and "Mi Viaje" (2017). In 2016 and 2017, Chryssy joined the NorthEast leg of The Extreme Tour and started hosting the growing, “F.O.T.S. Fit” Web Series to provide weekly tips spiritual and physical health. In Christ, Chryssy has found freedom and her calling, through music, Chryssy has found expression and a deeper connection with others. 

 

Since then, Chryssy has hosted many events, participated in prison ministry and has opened for National Recording artists Tenth Avenue North, V.Rose and K-Drama.Chryssy has also developed a publishing and apparel company, FOTS Culture LLC.   FOTS Culture LLC is a multimedia production company, which aims to serve aspiring artists with their creative needs through Apparel, Music, Songwriting, and Trademark/Publishing assistance.

 

FOTS Culture LLC also serves as the primary distributor of The FOTS Clothing Line (started in 2012) and Chryssy’s 6th project titled, "The Good Fight" released September 2nd 2019.
